Baby didn’t pass hearing test?

My baby was born yesterday and they took her to go do her hearing test and she didn’t pass. They said they would retest later and is possibly fluid build up. Anyone else have this issue? I’m freaking out even though the nurse said not to worry.

It’s common for babies with perfectly normal hearing to fail their first test. There are a lot of possible explanations and I’m sure the next test will be fine. Don’t worry mama! I’m sure everything is fine.

Happened to my daughter with her first 2 hearing tests. Then at her 2 week check up, she passed. They said the same thing, just fluid build up. Don't worry too much momma!

It was my understanding when the nurse was talking to me it can be difficult to have a successful test if baby is awake, super active or fussy etc. did they do it in the room with you or in the nursery? The nurse I had said it’s so much easier to do it in the room with the parents when they are sleepy or calm. Just a suggestion and it sure if it makes a difference but maybe?
