I just had my anatomy scan yesterday at 19+1. After the scan was over the doctor came in and mentioned that I have a rather large placental lake underneath where the umbilical cord is attached. I am scheduled to go back in 8 weeks for a growth scan to make sure the baby is growing at a good rate because this can cause babies to be smaller. She mentioned that they will check the lake again at that time and that my body may have reabsorbed it at that point. Has anyocne else had a placental lake? Did it stay through your whole pregnancy? Did it affect the growth rate of your baby?
