When did you start pumping?

I'd like to hold off on giving my baby bottles until he's around four weeks and breastfeeding is well established. I have a pretty strong supply of milk but don't want to send it into overdrive. When did you start pumping?

The day after delivery..we started bottles a week after delivery. We were giving bm with a syringe in the hospital to make sure he was getting enough because he was jaundice. I felt the it was keeping him from latching bc he didn’t have to do anything to get the milk. I started bottles and generally have no issues latching unless he’s impatient or over hungry.

About 3 hours after I delivered! They took my daughter to the NICU and I started pumping right away

The day after I gave birth. I exclusively pump. I’m 16 weeks PP and have about 100  6oz bags in the freezer 😊

Used the pump just to get the pressure down a little when the milk came in, so for about 3minutes on day 2. After that it’s only used on rare occasions, or to get down the pressure just enough to be more comfortable.

I started just a couple days after I got home from the hospital. I was soo engorged and baby would barely even take the edge of with a feeding so I started pumping for comfort. I try to only do it once or twice a day because I already have an over supply I don’t want to make even more lol

in the hospital, I started pumping 30 minutes after she breastfed for about 10-20 minutes depending.

6 weeks. I only pumped once a day and was able to accumulate a 2 week freezer stash by 12 weeks (when I returned to work). 
I waited to avoid oversupply. Because if you can’t keep up pumping the way you have been you risk clogged ducts and mastitis (never had it but heard it’s awful). So I only pumped what I knew I could be diligent with doing every day.
