Bare-Back to condoms...!?

Question

Stopped taking the pill for health reasons, I no longer want to ingest hormones as a form of contraception. My partner and I are planning to start using condoms again. Anyone been through this and how did you both deal with the change?

Copper IUDs don’t contain any hormones, so maybe that could be an option? There’s also the contraceptive sponge that’s also non hormonal. Condoms don’t have to be the only option when looking for non-hormonal methods.

I stopped taking the pill because of still becoming pregnant on it and was quite sick taking them anyways. We used condoms for nearly 4 years after the birth of our daughter and then to be honest it wasn’t such a big change or an annoyance except for the ‘feeling’. 
I definitely prefer no condom because there is less friction but as long as you are ‘wet’ enough then all is fine. Plus you don’t have to deal with the ‘aftermath’ of the sperm which is great.
But.... you do spend quite a bit of money on condoms! They are not cheap. We would buy ours online and top them up when we were low so we NEVER ran out.

We did this. went from pill to using condoms. similar reasons to you. it was fine.  the buying the condoms and keeping stocked was the hardest bit. otherwise, we were fine with the change. all the best

He just dealt with it. I told him how I didn’t like the way the hormones made me feel and we bought a new box of ones we wanted try. Not like we get a lot of alone time as it is with a four month old 🤣

when my hubby and I had to use condoms after our son we didn't like it to be honest, just our choice. I wish I didn't have to take a pill every night just to be safer on the no more babies right now train but I don't want to have to use condoms everytime

we only use condoms. I can't handle the pill, plus I'd forget to take them on time anyway, so we just switched.
we had no major issues switching. I was actually glad! we've been married 6 years this fall, the first 6 months of marriage I stopped taking the pill.
the only time we've had babies is when we planned on it.

Ahhh ok... I know it’s not going to be easy because I love the feeling of him cuming inside me and the way sex feels without Dom’s. I don’t want to get pregnant and IUD sounds scary haha. What about the possibility of having  sex when the chances of pregnancy is low???

well my husband and I after having my son who is now 6 months both decided we didn't want another addition. we have 2 girls and now our son and so we are done. I was due to get a tubal ligation but I didn't want to get cut and backed out of it and I dont want an IUD or take any pills or injections or any other forms of birth control so I decided to not get on anything and we use condoms. well that worked for maybe 2 weeks and was over with. ended up not using anything and just doing the withdrawal method although that doesn't always work. so I have to try to do something because my husband doesn't like not having that feeling while we are having intercourse
