First ultrasound?

when does the first ultrasound happen usually? like how many weeks? i'm so anxious and excited i'm literally counting the days!!

Most doctors would like to have it done 8-13 weeks. Before that there’s a much higher chance you won’t be able to see baby or detect the heartbeat, which can cause unnecessary stress and further testing

Depends on when Dr wants to see u. I went in at 8.3 weeks. Don’t go any earlier than 6-7 weeks so if u get an ultrasound they can actually see the baby.

My first official one was 8w4d but I had one at around 6w too confirm at the emergency I was pregnant. I know it’s exciting ! Don’t forget too post pics of your little nugget 💜

Usually 8-12 unless you as high risk then they will do one earlier. After my first pregnancy being normal with my first ultrasound around 8 weeks and then being high risk for this one I totally understand why they don’t do them earlier. There isn’t much to see and it causes unnecessary panic. Am glad I didn’t have one until 8 weeks with my first.

There is no set time. It’s different for everyone at different doctors offices are hospitals. I got mine at seven weeks.
