When did U all return to work after having a baby??

Hi everyone! I would love to know how did u decide based on your situation when to return to work after the baby? Did you take time off for a while or never went back to work? I’m so unsure at this stage...🤔

I’m so jealous of all you non-American moms that get so much longer! I’m taking 12 weeks (maybe 13 depending on the holidays). My job (and New York State) are pretty good with paid leave, so I get 4 weeks at full pay, and then 8 weeks at 50% pay (if I take an extra week, it will be from my vacation time).

My first was a preemie. I ended up taking 19 weeks, until her dr said she was strong enough for daycare. I plan to take 12 weeks with this one, assuming everything goes well.

I have maternity leave lasting his first year♥️ i wish it was longer as I don’t want to put him in kindergarten that early, but that’s how much paid leave I get 🙄

It will be around 59weeks of maternity leave, and after that SO has 10weeks or so.

I quit my job and my husband and I agreed I would stay home at least a year. My son is 1 now and I’m still not ready to leave him, not even close. I’m pregnant with baby #2 though, due in November, so I will just continue to to stay home. If I could I think I would stay home until all my kids are in school.

For my first pregnancy I went back at 10 weeks post partum. The doctor had to cut me a little down there because my daughter got stuck in my pelvis and then she was helicoptered to another hospital almost 3 hours away. They released me way before they were comfortable with then I instantly got in the car and drove there. Ended up ripping all my stitches out on accident and once that happens they won't restitch you just have to wait for it to close on its own. Took about 8 weeks for that to happen. Then I took 2 extra weeks just because I wasn't ready to leave my baby. Currently 26 weeks pregnant with my second and the plan this time is just 6 weeks. Unless I end up with a csection or there are more complications then we will go with the flow.

I have about 7 months maternity leave and then will be returning to work 3 days per week. I love my job so much but I also still want plenty of time work bub so this way I get best of both worlds!

I went back when my baby was 8 weeks old, I took 4 weeks when I was 36 weeks pregnant cus I couldn’t walk 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m a SAHM and I was originally going back to work but we sat down and did our budget. When we looked at the detailed stuff like having two cars and insurance and running/maintenance costs for both cars plus daycare etc etc it was actually cheaper for me to stay home. My son is now 15mths and we’re due with our 2nd in two months and so we haven’t had any issues yet! 
I’ll get at least a year with this new bub and then we’ll reassess again and see where we’re at. 
We found if we just looked at income and the main bills like food electricity and rent etc it wasn’t the whole picture. Once we looked at our actual expenses over a year and then projected that we got a better more accurate picture and it’s proven true so far
