has anyone actually tried this? did it work?! what did you do to help heal after birth!

I plan on making these. The ice packs that the hospital gives do absolutely nothing. I had a witch hazel postpartum spray and that was wonderful (I will be getting it again) but want these for the first couple of days.

So I did make these. The were messy, basically froze shut, and when they thawed a little to where I could open them they were like crunchy and uncomfortable. Totally waste of time in my opinion. 
My Hospital gave me these pad shaped cotton sleeve things that you feel with ice and those were great. I’ve also heard of filling a condom with water and freezing it and placing the frozen condom horizontally in your underwear (not inserting it) for pain relief. A friend of mine said that’s actually what her nurses suggested and it worked great. (But again just use it externally like an ice pack, do not insert the frozen condom in your vagina).

I'm also very curious! My last clinic gave me some amazing witch hazel cream and spray that helped a lot! But I'm not sure this new hospital will.

I made these without the coconut oil and they were wonderful! My instructions said to use the longest, thickest pads I could find but for this pregnancy I won’t get them quite as long. Definitely get ones with wings. I also made too many (I did a whole pack) but I didn’t bleed super long. I especially recommend these if you have a summer birth as I was already so hot and these really cooled me down. But be sure to sit on a towel as sometimes they get damp.

I bought some spray from amazon which is basically the same thing. Is was quite nice and cooling and makes you smell a bit nicer. Anything that helps.
