Should I pay more than the tattoo holding fee?

Ok so for me to hold a date they request $100, I currently have $700 on me and was wondering if I should only drop $100 or $700 towards the appointment. I'm getting a big tattoo so it'll be up there. Will they screw me over in the end cause they think I'll have money to throw away?

most artist do a holding fee due to people that cancel appointments and they are out that  money,its not about screwing you over or thinking you have money because you can afford the deposit.

The holding fee is Incase you cancel on them last minute. People are shitty and do stuff like that a lot so by having a holding fee the artist isn’t out that lost time. Just pay the holding fee and put the rest away for when it’s time to get the tattoo. As long as you’re going to a reputable shop you should have no problems with being taken advantage of.
