Bleeding with PCOS

I was 18 when I was diagnosed with PCOS. I’m 24 now and decided about a month ago to take care of it because I was just so scared. I started off with 500 mg for metphormin and now I’m up 3 500mg pulls a day. My body is adjusting to it as I expected. Three weeks ago I started Junel Fe 1/20 birth control. I went a week with taking it without having a period. I’m on my last week of the sugar pills and it’s day 10 of heavy bleeding and clotting. This is way abnormal for me and has me freaked out. My gyno said it’s normal because my uterus was a little this but is the any comfort out there to confirm I’m not alone with experiencing this and if so what was your experience?
