Too Young for IUD?

I’m going to be turning 18 soon and I promised myself I’d wait to lose my virginity until I could be put on a reliable birth control due to my mom not allowing me to, so I’m looking up birth controls and was thinking of putting an IUD in since I don’t plan on having kids for a long while. Do you think I am too young and my doctor won’t allow?

You can at any age but do look up the different kinds. There’s different sizes and brands in the hormonal ones but there’s only one non hormonal one which is paragard. Mirena and paragard are not FDA approved for women who haven’t had children. BUT doesn’t mean you can’t get those. Just a higher chance it’ll expel or it won’t fit. If you are going to do a hormonal one maybe try a different brand.
