Would I be a horrible mother?

I have plans to go out Saturday with my best friend whom I haven’t seen in about a year or so. I just got out of a really controlling relationship. I have two kids (3 & 1). Would I be a horrible mother if I decided to actually go? I know if my ex finds out, he will call me a horrible mother bc I supposedly would be putting that before my kids. I haven’t ever been out with just friends. It’s always been with him & my mom.

Who voted yes?  Seriously?  Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you lose yourself in the process. Yes, 99% of your time goes to your kids, but you have to take care of yourself, too.

I don’t have kids at all but I know when I was younger my parents use to go out and my older brother would watch me and my sister for a night or my grandparents would watch us some times. You deserve some time for yourself!

Heck no we all need breaks. As mothers we tend to loose ourselves because we feel like we have to be only mothers but its ok to have breaks and alone time to refresh our body and mind. I dont know about your ex but im pretty sure he goes out and about without a worry since youre the one taking care of your kids. So F*** him and his dumb opinions.

Nothing wrong with having a fun night out every once and a while!
Get a babysitter and have fun!
My parents went out every couple weeks and would leave us with a babysitter. We loved it because they would get us McDonalds and we could stay up a little later. Nothing wrong with a mom going out and enjoying herself!
