How long did you wait before taking the baby out in public?

Id like to know how long some of you women waited to take your baby out and about after giving birth. 
FTM. 
I don’t like being stuck in a house for to long, even when I’m sick or in pain.  It drives me insane and honestly I feel like it makes it all worse for me.

I waited til after babys first shots

Until I got released from the hospital. We started going out on quick trips (the store, quick bite to eat, etc) the day after I got released. I just kept her in her car seat and we went after she’d been fed. It was pretty easy.

the day after we left the hospital, we were already taking our son out with us. there was no way I wanted to be cooped up. but I did keep him on me or I his carrier at all times and would not let any strangers come up near him bc it freaked me out if someone tried to touch him

Once we were home, anything went. We had family in for a family wedding and he was a few days old when we were visiting. He attended the wedding with us (we left after dinner). I developed PPD and honestly being with other people and spending the time with my son out and about really helped me.

I don’t have kids yet but I worked at Wendy’s and this couple came in breastfeeding her baby, she said they had just got released from the hospital!

I only took him to the hospital for the first month. I kept him in the car with daddy while I went shopping inside. Next baby I'll use a newborn carrier with.

My first I think it was about a week, I’m pregnant with my second now and have to take my older one to school so it’ll be a couple days max, you can baby wear so bubs isn’t exposed to germs for the first few weeks if you’re worried. But I say go for it
