How do I say it???

My husband and I are not wanting any visitors to come to the hospital after the birth of our baby and we are not allowing anyone to hold it (other than family) for awhile. How to I tell people this without coming off as rude?

Just like that! Regardless, people who want to be offended by it, will be. My mom cried and threw a fit when I told her that we didn’t want anyone else in the delivery room other than my boyfriend. By the end of the pregnancy, she got over it.

I never tell anyone when I'm in labor, we tell them after we come home.

That’s kinda what I’m doing next time.
When I had my son it was our first kid together and his moms first grandchild so I had both of it moms, him and my sister and niece in the room. (The last two was an accident, everything was going slow so they were waiting in the room then it escalated fast and they werent able to get out before the doctors crowded in). Before the actual delivery there was also both of our brothers that were waiting around. Then I said ok to having visitors right away the next day. So we didn’t get much time alone with baby since people were over all day for each day in the hospital and we have visitors at home. 
So next time, it’ll be just him & me in the delivery room, and only parents/siblings to visit in the hospital on one day. Then no visitors at home until at least one week after. I might change my mind a little on the times once i actually get pregnant but for now this is what I’ve talked to him about. I hated having so many friends visit before I even got a shower, they came that early lol.
