Talking?

Question

Is anyone else’s 15 month old not talking? 😕 She can say DaDa, shake her head yes and no, and understands what you say but won’t say any words. Anyone else?

I think that’s fine! Our pediatrician said comprehension is important, so if your child understands things you say then I wouldn’t worry. My son doesn’t say many words but he understands things we say to him.

My 15-month-old says: yes, no, pica, mas, more, pata, nana (banana), coco, Longhorns, unicorn, and she also tries to say empanada and aquacate. she understands when I say, "Take this to Papa," and s lly ot other things. She also tells me when she wants more in sign language. I'm not sure if any of this is where she is supposed to be, or if it is below or above by a little bit. I just know that every baby develops at their own pace, and it'll be okay. :)

My daughter says the typical mama and dada. She used to say more words when she was younger like uh oh, hi, puppy, and piggy. Now a days tho she will only repeat a word once but won’t say it anymore like banana, bye bye, okay. She’ll try to say hi goosey(we say that when we see a goose in the back yard) but other than that, that’s it. She’s great at communicating with her gestures tho and some sign language for milk, more, and eat. We actually understand what she’s trying to “say” and she understands us majority of the time when we tell her to put something up or go get certain things or sit down at her table. I think the comprehension part is the big part at this age.

My 16 month old can make a ton of animal sounds, even fart sounds, when asked; she kind of started saying no, talks to herself all day long (hand gestures and everything) but no real words yet. Doc told me she gives them the benefit of the doubt until 18 months and then if needed will be evaluated. I feel like it’s right there, she just hasn’t put it together yet.

My daughter says mama, dog, and uh oh. Doctor isn’t worried and said she won’t be until two years. My mom said all of us started talking around 2 years (she has six kids), so I try not to worry

My 15 month old says dada, papa, cheese, gigi (papa's 4 month old puppy whom he adores), mama, gentle, bath, book, diaper, thank you. He understands a lot more and follows commands, all kids are different and some talk a lot more than others.

My daughter says mama dada and such. She also says woof woof for dog. She can say puppy and knows the difference in woof woof and puppy. Lol. Kitty, this, that, bath, outside, and she is now trying to repeat things I say. Like scat cat, move it (talking to my moms lazy dog) small sentences. She tries to say paw paw and my sisters name Stephanie.

mines not talking besides mama, dada and shaking his head no. we got him tested and in the two parts of speech & communication hes at the level of a 2 month old is what they told me. hes starting speech therapy

My son is 15 months. He says dada , clock, and makes a bunch of animal noises. Says hi someone’s and sometimes no. He gestures a lot. Babbles all day long. We just had a check up and our dr isn’t worried. He understands everything we say and comprehends a lot, I feel like he will talk soon but more so when he’s ready. We read a ton too, if he needs speech therapy then so be it, but I’m not worried yet.
