I work in reception for a doctors office, as we were about to close, these kids came in, they were malice 9 or 10 but they were basically trying to chat me up, the same way older men do “you’re so beautiful” “how long have you been working here” “how come I’ve never seen you” “where are you from” and I felt very uncomfortable, it was 3 of them and I didn’t want to answer them but I don’t know, I couldn’t really kick them out or tell them to leave like I would older guys if they were being inappropriate. They came in alone, no parents and wouldn’t have left had the doctor not come out of his room to leave.

I’ve had smartass kids be flirty or blow a kiss to me randomly while walking past, I laugh it off as I’m usually with friends and they don’t hang around but this time I was alone and they wouldn’t leave.

I don’t know, I just froze in the moment. And I’d like to know how to handle similar situations in the future.
