First period after depo?

Question

Off of depo for about three weeks (since first missed shot) after being on it for seventeen years!  Already seem to be having a period (it's light but they always were).
Here's hoping more people with bad experiences speak out than those with good experiences and this won't go as bad as this group has me bracing for...

I think there are a lot of bad stories about depo because a lot of people go on it without being fully educated first. It is true that it can take up to a year and a half or even two years to conceive after the shot, but that is not everyone's experience. I was on it for 13 years and got my period back 3 months after my missed shot and pregnant 8 months after my missed shot. I just went off it for the second time (was on it for a year and 3 months this time) and had spotting followed by a short and light period at just past 11 weeks after last injection, and I got a regular period about a week and a half after that. If all keeps going as it has I may end up conceiving faster this time, who knows! There aren't enough of the good stories of TTC after depo out there, so it just seems like it's horrible when it really isn't horrible for everyone.
