Anyone on metformin? Have a question...

So I’m taking metformin 3 times a day WITH food. I eat a meal and when I’m done I take the pill. I have been SUPER nauseas through out the entire day for the past week. Does it make anyone else feel super sick?

Took Metformin to conceive my first..it worked after 2 months..along with healthy diet. It was 500mg twice a day. The two months I was on it I had nausea and vomiting..it ddnt ease. I’m on metformin at the min trying to conceive another baby..same dose as the last time..been on it over two months..no bfp..still have nausea..no vomiting. I’m hoping to start taking natural supplements instead of metformin as many people have suggested this lately to me. I find the  nausea to much

Take a Probiotic! I've been on 2 metformin a day and taking over the counter Probiotics changed everything! just take 1 a day

I saw on a different post here to take it with your first bite of food and that really helps me. If I take it in the middle of my meal or at the end, the nausea is much worse.

Never had an issue taking metformin aside from loose stools ( tmi — sorry) .. I eased into it.. 1 once a day for a week, then two, ultimately getting to three at one point.. I was taking 500 mg at that time.. now I’m only taking 2xs / day same

I take it twice a day and the only times I get nauseas is if I don’t eat enough through out the day or I wait too long to eat after I take it in the morning. Food is key for me!

I am taking it. May I ask why you’re taking it? Because 3 times a day sounds like a lot to me. I take it once a day. It is a side effect and may go away the longer you take it. Did you just start taking it? I had bad diarrhea when I first starting taking it but I kept taking it and the diarrhea stoped. I’d definitely talk to your doctor If you don’t feel better after a week.

How long have you been taking it and is it then extended release version? Metformin can make people feel ill as nausea is one of the main side effects!
