I don't, but if they do I don't think they would look anything like the one in the gif.  I think they would have a more fish look to them. I don't think they would look totally human on the top half.

Not in the way we would imagine, like Ariel the little mermaid for example. I imagine that if mermaids do exist, they probably look quite odd if not terrifying for it would be a different experience for us.

Yup, 90% because there’s some crazy freaky shit in the tiny portion of the ocean we have explored, so why couldn’t there be a sort of mermaid deep down in the areas we haven’t explored. Plus, I love mermaids lmao. I think it’s pretty healthy to believe magical shit like that to an extent, life can be pretty boring if you’re not open to the world around you.
