Periods are longer after mirena?

Question

Has anyone else had the issue of periods lasting longer after long wear of the mirena? I've had mine for a little over a year now, and I got it for extremely heavy and painful periods. my periods are light to medium now but last up to 12 days. 
is it just me? should I get it checked out?

I was on Mirena for 6 years&& i never had a period while on it&& my periods are back to 3-4 days long after having it removed

no , it’s normal for every one . it says it on their website that your periods may become longer . mine are 15 +

I don’t have periods with my mirena. 2nd one now. Total of 8 years on mirena

just made a poll about this too haha ghlad I'm not the only one, I was starting to wonder.. it's super annoying because I'm so used to heavy periods. Every time it gets super light I'm like yay it's done.. and then I go and wreck some panties cause nope it wasn't gone yet

I’ve had mine 9 months now.  I had it inserted for exactly the same reason as you.  My heavy periods made me anemic.  They’re lighter now which has solved the issue but, my period lasts around 12 days.  Hoping it will one day disappear entirely but not so sure it will.  Otherwise, I’m having a good experience with the Mirena so I’ve decided to stick it out.
