Would you let your child taste alcohol? *UPDATE 4 AT BOTTOM*

Tayste

So my parents gave me small sips of whatever they were drinking starting when I was probably 4 or 5. I usually spit it out because it was gross. But, personally I won’t do this for my child this young. (I might give him sips of wine at 16+ if he wants). This is inspired by a post my friend put on fb.

(Picture ot toddler son with his mouth wrapped around a mikes hard bottle)

She’s getting a lot of bashing, I’m sure you can imagine.

What’s your opinion? Would you let your child drink a mikes hard? Or any other alcoholic beverage? By drink, I mean a sip or two and that’s all. (Which is what she said she gave her son in the pic)

Disclaimer: I got permission from my friend to post this picture assuming I scribble out faces (which I did), she doesn’t believe she has done anything wrong so she doesn’t care that I’m sharing with all of you.

UPDATE: a lot of you are mentioning CPS and I agree that she needs to be turned in, but I spoke with her mom after this post and she has already called and CPS has started their investigation but my friend doesn’t know yet and I was advised not to tell her.

UPDATE 2: so her original post has been taken off Facebook but someone sent her pictures around and it’s gone viral, and according to the viral post, she’s pregnant. Which makes matters worse because not only is her toddler drinking alcohol, so is she. But she tells me that she isn’t pregnant, that it was a lie to make people feel sorry for her (which obviously isn’t working). But her mom said she is actually pregnant. I’m not sure which is true. And so far, nothing has happened with CPS but she knows now they have been called.

UPDATE 3: I just want everyone to know that on top of approving this post, my friend has also been following the comments. She is staying with me for the time being and her son is with her mom. They had a falling out that’s irrelevant to this post, but don’t think I’m just posting her business behind her back, she’s here and approves everything I post.

UPDATE 4: I removed the picture per request of her case worker.
