Irritable Uterus

For those who saw or replied to my previous post from earlier this morning. I have seen a nurse practitioner at my Doctors office. She checked me and says even though I’m one cm dilated (which she attributes to this being my fourth pregnancy and third baby) my cervix is still closed and long. She did test me for fetal fibronectin (which I’ll know the results tomorrow.) she thinks that all these contractions are due to an irritable uterus. This was yet another weird thing I’ve experienced this pregnancy that I had to google. Although these contractions don’t change the cervix, there is a higher chance of it leading to preterm labor. I have to keep tracking them, but she didn’t mention bedrest or anything of that nature yet.
