I just want opinions

So I left my abusive husband last February. I had an order of protection, got full sole custody and everything. I started seeing someone else a couple months later and I’m still seeing that same guy. He’s absolutely wonderful and we’ve been together for a year now. He has not met my son fully and my son only knows about him as a friend I used to work with. My ex and I are still married and his mother is my babysitter being as my own mother lives 1500 miles away. I just started talking to my ex and we’ve discussed divorce and are on the same page now that he’s all clean and off of drugs. My only issue is I’m ready to introduce my son to the new guy I’ve been seeing for a year but I don’t know how. I also feel like I should tell my ex and his parents before I do that. Even though my ex was a p.o.s. I still want to be respectful because he is the father to our son and never really was a bad father. I’m just not sure if I’m thinking too much into this or not. Should I just introduce this guy, who really wants to meet my son, without talking to them or should I consider them?
