Flex menstruation disc Review

Rebecca

Hello everyone,

So I am 22 and have been using pads and tampons since I was 12. I have also tried period cups.

I finally decided to jump in and try the flex. The flex is a disc, not a cup. It catches the fluids and does not leak once placed behind the pubic bone. You do not wash it like a cup, you simple place it in the wrapping and into the trash it goes.

I want to say that I tried this on a day I was ovulating to see how it worked. When places you cannot feel it. I realized right away that it was not in correctly, I was able to get my finger in there and push the disc back and up behind my pubic bone.

Today I started my first period while using the disc. I placed my disc in at 9:30 this morning and took it out around 5:40. It can stay for about 12 hours and hold I think 2 super tampons without the discomfort of swelling that tampons do, the risk of TSS or the smell tampons can sometimes make.

I used a liner as well just because when you take it out sometimes blood can still be in you, I don’t consider this leaking as I don’t shove TP up there to be dry. Also a little lubrication help the disc go in easier.

I also have a IUD and have not had any issues with my string. I am used to using my fingers to make sure my strings are where they are meant to be so I have come to know where my pubic bone is.

So far I really love the Flex. It’s a little intimidating at first since it was new and it looks big, but compared to the babies our bodies can produce this is nothing. I also found it more sanitary since my blood isn’t being soaked into a stick of cotton that comes from who knows where and has been treated by who knows what. I also like that I don’t sit in my blood like a pad.

I would recommend using the flex if you’re a busy person who really doesn’t have the time to change a pad or tampon every three hours. I also recommend this product if you want to save money, feel cleaner, and be more active on your period. I can do yoga without worrying about my tampon leaking in the middle of class.

Also it is NOT BIRTH CONTROL AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A METHOD FOR PROTECTION AND DOES NOT PROTECT AGAINST STD’S.
