Insurance Rant
So, my husband’s insurance is usually really great. The one thing that SUCKS about it seems to relate to breastfeeding...They cover the cost of a pump, but you only have one option, which I was surprised about, but I figured it’d be fine. Yeah, it sucked (or didn’t suck, more specifically). I ended up having to buy a new pump, myself because I was getting barely anything and it was causing me a lot of discomfort. The new pump (Spectra S1) is 1000x Times better! I was amazed the first time I used it. I called the company today because I was told I got a certain amount of BM storage bags for free. Apparently I get 150 every 90 days and can only “refill” that three times. Which, is not really that many if you’re pumping regularly. I use two bags a day, which is a low number since I only pump once a day right now, but when my son goes to daycare in a few months I’ll be blowing through the bags in no time. Like WTF?! I also learned if we were using formula they’d cover several hundred dollars a month of formula! That’s great, but you’ll cover all that formula, but won’t give me a decent pump or pay for enough storage bags. This is so frustrating!! Of course when I wanted to voice my frustration by all of this, there wasn’t really anyone I could talk to. Bleh.
