When did you tell your family that you were pregnant?

They say it’s best to wait until weeks 10-12. When did you tell your family? 
We are having a family camping trip when I am 9 weeks and since everyone will be there we want to tell them but unsure if we should or if we should wait.

We told close family when we found out. Told the rest of the world after our first ultrasound. I feel like if I did miscarry, I would want support all around. I wouldn’t want to have to hide my feelings.

I told my immediate family right away. Telling people before 12 w isn’t going to cause something bad to happen. I announced on social media at 8w. Yes, the chances of miscarriage decrease but bad things can happen at anytime during your pregnancy. I wasn’t going to let that keep me from celebrating 🤷‍♀️

I told my family as soon as I tested positive. I was about 4-5 weeks at that point.

We told my fiancé's family first because I was staying at his parents house for a week and I had pretty bad morning sickness so before I even walked through the door we told his mum (who drove us from the coach station). She then told his dad (traditional Turkish man so we were more than happy to not be present when he found out). They then had a big talk about why we shouldn't go through with it (trying for a year and a half to get pregnant so this didn't go down well). I then got very angry and vented to my mam who found out by me texting her "don't react with your opinion or anything but I'm pregnant and I need to rant, nobody else knows just let me vent". Not the ideal way but my parents were happy and the future-in-laws eventually warmed up to it after I had a bit of a go at them lol. I was about 9 weeks then as well.

Go for it! We are announcing a little bit past 10w, but that’s just because my first appointment isn’t until exactly 10w.

I told my parents the day after I found out. I was already over a month pregnant and didn't know it. i guess I wasn't paying that much attention if I got my period or not the month before 😂 I didn't publicly announce until 11ish weeks.

The family that we told before 12 weeks we told them to try not to tell anyone or at least not to post about it on social media. We told our families first and then posted to all our friends a couple weeks later. It’s up to you and will probably be hard to keep a secret anyways lol that’s why we told a little earlier

I told my little sister as soon as I found out & my fiancé and I told my mom and his mom at 6 weeks. ❤️ we told them not to tell anyone else as we aren’t ready. 
We plan on telling the rest of our family at 9 weeks and social media at 12 weeks. 😌
It really depends on how comfortable you are and what you want . I know and knew if I were to miscarry that I’d want the support of my mom, fiancé, his mom, and my little sister. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I say tell them. It will be very helpful to have their support if anything were to happen. I am speaking from experience. But do what your gut tells you! There’s no right or wrong way to do it!
