am I too young for a baby?

so i'm 17, and i live in my own 1 bedroom apartment on my own, and ive been with my boyfriend for the past 4 months and its going good. i've been thinking for a while that I want a baby but im scared i'm too young to 'want' one, my stepmum lets me have her babies at mine all the time so I know what looking after a child is all about, and when i lived at home ive always had younger siblings but was wondering what everyones opinion is. I know love sometimes doesnt last forever and I know sometimes things dont work out the way we want them to but is it too early to start to try for a baby? im fully prepared for doing it all on my own if worst comes to worst as I have a supportive family.

I think it’s too early. Not strictly because of your age but that combined with the fact that you’ve been with your boyfriend for 4 months. Wait it out. People change a lot from their teens to mid twenties. Know your true self and make sure your partner knows their true self and you know each other’s.

I’m 16 with a baby on the way with a step son. Honestly it’s hard at a young age and are you sure you’re able to manage that with bills? 4 months is way too early to be wanting a baby with your boyfriend in my opinion because it’s still early

A few things. You're young, obviously, and you should give yourself a chance to experience life without a child. Also, having kids of your own isn't going to be like babysitting your siblings. And things may be going great with your boyfriend, but 4 months is a very short time in the grand scheme of things. And it would be terrible (for you, and the child) if you got pregnant then y'all split.

Definitely think it’s way too early especially since you’ve only been with this guy for 4 months and the responsibilities it takes to raise your own child is way different than watching your stepmom’s. The money and everything, it just wouldn’t be a good idea. I would wait awhile, have a good stable job, probably get married, and then think about having kids. Instead of having them you could get your early childhood development degree or be a babysitter.

Live life you’re only 17 have fun. Plus you’ve only been with your boyfriend for 4 months which is way too soon to be trying no matter how old you are. Babies are fun but they’re a lot of work.
