Did the epidural hurt?

Would deeply appreciate to hear anyone’s epidural experiences, with my first I went without medication. I am now curious with being pregnant second time and the first being a horrible experience, just want to be able to enjoy the experience of labour this time if possible. Thank you ❤️

Mine didn’t hurt at all. I also didn’t see the needle because I thought it would mentally freak me out. I don’t know the pain you went through but to me I feel like going natural would hurt WAY worse!

well when you're having contractions so painful that you're asking for the epidural, ANY pain with the epidural is obsolete

didn't look at it when it came in the room, and nope didn't hurt. 
what hurt was staying still waiting for a contraction to pass before they could put it in.

They had 3 tries on mine & I had a nice bruise to go with it.

for me, it was a very uncomfortable procedure. they said it normally takes 15-20 min... mine took over an hour to do! they had to poke me 4 different times and use 2 different types of needles (because they couldn't find a spot in between my spine where the needle actually fit).. and not only that but it also took having to call for a 2nd anesthesiologist to finally be able to do it (the 1st one gave up and said she couldn't do it). Meanwhile, I had to sit in the most uncomfortable position ever (sitting up on the edge of the bed with my back hunched over as much as it would go) all during the most painful contractions I had experienced, and they were coming every 1-2 minutes during which you're not allowed to move at all. so the epidural itself was not exactly painful, but everything going on during the time was extremely uncomfortable and painful and stiff with not being able to move but in my opinion it was all TOTALLY worth it and I would definitely do it again. I would have gotten it sooner, but due to complications I was forced to wait. but once it was successfully in, it was almost instant relief and for the first time in hours I finally got a bit of shut eye.

No, but I also delivered at the hospital I worked at and therefore knew the anesthesiologist doing my epidural. He gave me a courtesy bolus of meds which was nice but unfortunately resulted in me throwing up on the poor nurse. I honestly don't remember pain or even pressure or burning which are all normal. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
