Car seat help

FTM here, just wondering which do you guys think is more convenient. I’m stuck between buying an infant car seat or a convertible one the baby can grow into. Although the convertible one sounds convenient over the years none of them seem to have a handle to hold on to for transporting baby from house to car & they’re also a bit bulky.. or maybe that’s just how they appear. Which do you prefer?
