I have 4 kids. My SO and I were both working full time until last year I had to quit my job after hurricane irma. We had 1 car repo. We got evicted from our townhouse. We moved to a small city where he got a job offer 2,000 more a year and I started working part time. We were at rock bottom. It took a couple weeks to turn on the electric. The car we still had didnt fit all of is properly in it and the battery would die randomly, so until we could get a new battery I was pestering our new neighbors for a jump. Our rent went from 650 to 450 a month. Not a great place but it works. That was in November.

We skipped Christmas and a birthday. I was once again denied for assistance because they wont take into account that we spend over 1000 a month in child support. But it started to look like we were getting on our feet. Then came the end of January. My stepdaughter was almost put into foster care because she was having issues with her mom. We took her in instead. Her mom wouldnt let me get any of her things. So for a month she was on an air mattress until I got my taxes. Then I got her a bed, mattress, bedding, lights, clothes, mirror, dresser, etc. The money I had set aside for a reliable car went into her needs. I got some furniture that we needed. I needed a bed. We had been sleeping on a futon. I got a dining room table. An entertainment center. A tv with a tv stand. I got us some new clothes and the kids got new shoes. Everything I got was cheap online.Ex: the table and chairs came in a box and was 170 dollars. With common needs as well such as food,gas,utilities my taxes were gone.

In order to move over here I had to make the last ditch effort for money. I went to title max and got the max amount I could get for my car. 550. I was never able to pay it back. They never came and got the car I take it because we moved and never put in a change of address. My back tire finally blew. So I put the spare on it and the next week the front tire blew. Thats the beginning of May and my tags expired in April. I dont think I can get the car registered again since the title people were supposed to repo it. My SO doesnt even want to try or get a new tire for it. So weve been hitching rides and finally was at the point we could put a down payment for another car.

When we moved in a small part of the kitchen floor was deformed. Didn’t bother us because we needed to be here and didn’t question why. The lease here is just month to month. Towards the end of May it started getting a little worse. Then I noticed on the other side of the wall the living room carpet was all wet. We called the landlord. As she called a plumber to come out I noticed a seal under the kitchen sink had been cracked and leaking water only now I could hear it leaking. So the plumber told me when the insurance people come by to tell them it just happened. Not to tell them it had been happening or else the owner wouldn’t be able to get the insurance money and we may have to move. A few days later the owner came by with the insurance people. I didn’t say anything about it had been happening. So they said theyd have to come in and redo the floors and cabinets. We were fine with it of course.

We were just waiting until the check after the first to put a down payment on a car. Our credit is both in the low 500s so we werent wanting anything new. Just a cheap car to get us from A to B because we cant get a loan through a bank. We put an extension on our electric and was going to pay rent on the 19th when we got paid after that.

On the first the landlord came by and gave me a notice to vacate by July 1st. So they can come in and do the remodeling. They got the insurance money so theyre going to come in and remodel the whole place so they can up the rent for the next people. And need us gone to do that. So then I was just like you know what fuck it. I cant find a place online for this little town I need to actually go out and look so we will get the car first stick to our original plan and then find somewhere for us to go. Now it’s the 11th.We were having a tough time finding the car. We finally found 1 that we may be able to do. Then today the landlord texts my SO that she want able to wait until the 19th and that shell give us til noon tomorrow to pay her rent + fee + yard people she sent out without us knowing about. Now we have to pay $570 to her by noon tomorrow or the owners will evict us. WTF?

Ive still been trying to find places online and cant find any we can afford for a 3 bedroom. Im sorry I did find one place but of course the one place I found has none available. Im crumbling in stress because I have no idea how I am supposed to get any of this done when it needs to happen. We have to live around here because this is where our jobs are. If we move farther away well have to pay more gas plus rent is more. I asked the landlord and she doesn’t have any other places available.

I feel sunk. I dont know what to do. Were in a hole we can never get out of.
