How does this work???

I always see these nails on Instagram with that stencil thing underneath but once they apply the acrylic wouldn't it be stuck between the natural nail and the acrylic??
We don't have this where I live. Can someone explain how they take it off once finished and what they are even for? My nail tech can shape mine fine without these...

It’s to add length without using a plastic tip. It has like a foil coating and slips off when the acrylic is dry.

When using these, you don’t put them “on” your natural nails... you slide them UNDER the tip of your natural nail and apply the gel/acrylic on your natural nail and extend it over this piece. Once the gel/ acrylic dries, you can bend/pinch the foil and it will come off super easily. This is just a technique used to extend the artificial nail without using plastic tips👍🏼

no its basically foil so it slips right off. and it goes under the natural nail not over.
