Meds and x-rays to help things out

So after trying for 6 months on our own with and ovulation kit, I decided to make an appointment with the doctor. He didn’t seem too concerned that I’m turning 42 in September and that I haven’t gotten pregnant from trying for the past 6 months. He said he would start to get concerned if nothing happens by the end of this year. He’s giving me a prescription that will help the ovulation process and sending me for an x-ray to see if my tubes need to be flushed. Can anyone give me some advice or their experiences with this whole process. I’m still amazed at how he wasn’t too concerned that I haven’t gotten pregnant yet.
