About 2yrs ago my bf co signed for me to get a car because my credit wasn’t that good. In between then & now, his score has gone down due to missed credit card payments. My score is now ok so he asked me to take out a loan for $10,000 for him. I never said no, even though I’m skeptical. I simply asked him why & he won’t tell me. He’s coming off as manipulative saying he did it for me & how if he did something for someone he doesn’t think it should be a problem for when he wants something. I already have student loans, credit card bill & auto loan on my credit. He promises he’ll pay back the 10k & he’s usually a trustworthy guy. We been together 7yrs & he’s never done anything to make me think he’s sketchy but he won’t even tell me why he needs it. I’m very appreciative of him co signing for me & I pay my car note early every month. He says he put his credit on the line for me, which is half true because my credit is still on the car too so if I decided not to pay my note, I’m screwed as well. If I take out this loan & he doesn’t pay, I’m the only one screwed in that situation. Idk if I’m being selfish, im not trying to be. I really don’t mind doing stuff for him but honestly if I take out a loan, I’d want it to be for a down payment on a house. Am I wrong?
