Normal for three weeks?

Me

I had my c-section three weeks ago and spent a full week in the hospital due to blood complications (I have almost no platelets). I felt pretty good when I came home and only took pain meds as needed. I also had bleeding that lessened to the point that I didn’t need a pad.

Now, at three weeks, I am in a fair amount of incision pain. It even hurts to adjust how I’m sitting on the couch. My internal incision is tender to touch and appears a bit swollen (I can see the bumps of where the internal incision reaches compared to the external incision). Also, I’m bleeding much more than I was and it’s all bright red. I don’t know if it fills a pad in an hour because it is generally when I go to the bathroom, so it’s all in the toilet. I have stringy type clots but because they aren’t in a ball shape, I don’t know if they are considered abnormal in size.

I feel like my body is going backwards in the recovery process. Is this normal? Should I contact my midwife?
