I agree, to an extent.
While there has to be collaboration and communication with children, I still think that punishment is necessary too.  I am against spanking, but grounding, time outs, and revoking of privileges I feel are what help children learn their lessons and help them from repeating their mistakes.
The old way most definitely must go, though.
