Does this seem right? I have my 3 hour glucose test in the morning and the nurse told me I need to fast 10-12 hours and I asked her if I can drink water during that time and she said no, that I can't even drink water at all....?

I thought Normally when you're ordered to fast for a blood test that you can drink water? I'm just thrown back that the nurse told me not to eat or drink anything for 10-12 hours starting at 10 pm tonight. So I asked her if it's okay to just drink water during that time frame and she said no, the only time i can drink water is to just wash down my prenatal in the morning and that's it. She said that they don't like people to drink anything at all. I'm just confused because I've had other fasting blood tests before and I was able to drink water
