Successful VBAC???

I am currently 5’5, 280 lbs and currently pregnant with my 2nd baby! With my first I had a c-section due to the fact that she was breech. With this pregnant I am hoping for a vbac! But my doctor told me I had a 38% chance of a successful vbac due to my weight... has anyone ever had a successful vbac while being “overweight”??? I am really hoping I can deliver vaginally..

I’ve had two csections and two VBACS and I’m not small! I’m what they call “overweight” weighing 216! I’m 5’4 and everything was successful.

What do they consider overweight? I had a Vbac with my 2nd.

i delivered my second daughter vbac at 300lbs. i am currently a lil over 300 and 32wks preg. it will be my 3rd natural delivery. maybe its because u had a csection first?

I’d love for you to ask your doctor for data showing what she’s telling you. Also, what’s the cutoff for this supposed increased risk of a cesarean, weight-wise? Again, I’d be surprised if she could tell you. I personally would find it hard to believe your weight would increase your csection rate that much. Repeat cesareans (generally) are more risky than VBACS. I’d shop around to get other opinions and find a practitioner (OB or midwife) that is supportive of your desire for a VBAC. Be sure to ask any doctors or midwives for numbers on how many VBACS they’ve been involved with, etc. unfortunately many claim to be “VBAC-friendly” when they’ve literally only been involved with a few and they put strict “criteria” around them. That’s not actually VBAC-friendly. 💪🏻💪🏻
