Normal period?

So I just had my IUD be removed as an emergency after discovering it was dislodged and instantly went onto the combination pill.... and slowly my period had started and it’s been almost a week and my period has slowly become heavier. This is odd as I did not bleed at all in the six months of having the IUD....
Should I be concerned? What could be the cause?

I’m not sure about your question but how did you know it was dislodged? I’ve had mine for 6 months and it freaks me out.

I forgot to add, your IUD was progesterone only. That can stop your periods. Now that you are on estrogen and progesterone, it will make you have break through bleeding “aka a period that really isn’t a real period”.

I wouldn’t be. You’re just changing BC. It can happen with any change regardless of the type. I would still set up an appointment with your doctor though.
