Him and his parents

So, I've been official with my boy friend since march 4 and I've known him for about a year on an off prior to us deciding we wanted to be official. We just got back from a 4 day vacation trip for his birthday with his close friends that he invited me to. Everything thankfully is going great but my dilemma is this. We were having a night of Q&A; and I've been wanting to know if he's told his parents he's talking to someone and he said no. This kinda hurt me. I know things are still fresh between us but I still feel with our level he should at least mention things to his parents such as oh I'm going on a date with some girl. At least for my case, my family hasn't met him but they know of him. Am I over thinking and being sensitive ? I just feel that if he claims he loves me so much then why not mention something about me to them. No?
