I just graduated two weeks ago so I feel like kind of an expert on high school right now 😂😂😂😂.

Join a club. It’s easy to make friends if you already have a common interest. Chances are you’ll make friends with upperclassmen who can give you advice on high school and you can pass along this knowledge in the coming years.

Take challenging classes. Classes that make you think more than do busy work. If you’re interested in the subject matter you’re more likely to learn and study, plus it won’t feel like a chore.

On that note, study and do your homework, it will help you to keep your grades up and do well in class.

Have fun. As much as high school sucks, try and find the good parts. Go to school events, make new friends, try something new like a sport or hobby. Don’t be too hard on yourself. No one is perfect, always do what you think is best and stick to it.

Get to know your teachers. Be nice, listen to them and don’t give them a hard time. Chances are you will need a favor at some point (college recommendations) and it’s good to know that you have a teacher on your side.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s better to just ask in the long run, enough said.

Know yourself. Or get to know yourself. High school covers four crucial formative years, and through all the changes only a few things remain constant, one being that you are you. It’s easy to get lost or overwhelmed but if you know who you are you’ll always have an anchor to go back to.
