Restraining order

I don’t know where else to post this on this app, but I just need some advice. I have a cousin who lives with me, who’s ex girlfriend lied on him & was granted a restraining order. The girl is crazy. There was an incident where they were arguing because he was texting another girl. The other girl has been a friend of the family since I was a baby. I’m 23 & she’s still around. She’s legit like family & they were texting about throwing a surprise party for my sister. She threatened to kill him if he continued to contact her. I was there for that whole thing. then the minute he broke up with her, she went & filed a restraining order saying that, that night, he abused her. When it was time for them to go to court, she showed pictures of bruises on her body (that she did herself because it was definitely not my cousin) & she faked text messages that said he threatened to shoot her. I just want to know, is it seriously that easy to get a restraining order on someone? And what could my cousin do to clear his name?
