how much do dad's who have no income usually have to pay? they told me today it's based off income and my baby daddy is jobless

North Carolina and around here most guys are forced to pay one way or the other if they don't have a job.. If they don't pay they go to jail. Sad thing is though, they can pay like a "minimum" of their backpay to keep out of jail and that's usually what ends up happening.

In Texas they will make it be minimum wage at 40 hours a week. Well at least in my case.

It depends on the state you live in. You can look up the chart in each state. In Louisiana it’s $100 minimum for one child. Not sure about other states.

They’ll do it based off of minimum wage in the state that you’re in , my sons dad still has to pay even though he technically has no job

NY is shit. State minimum is 50/month. When I filed he was jobless I’d see maybe 15 every couple months, then he got a job has worked for years now, and he’s still only paying the minimum tried to go back to court and was refused by the fucking court. There are months he’ll deposit .23 cents!!!! I never see the ordered amount if 50/month and nothing has been done.

All depends. They usually take into account *both* parents income. They can’t force him to get a job. Nobody can force anyone to do anything. They may require him to pay a certain amount. It may be very little or a decent amount. That’s what he’ll be required to pay. If he gets it from a job or a friend, the court doesn’t care. As long as it’s paid.

Not a damn thing. I have a close friend who’s baby’s father lives with a girlfriend and she pretty much takes care of him so he doesn’t
Work. Her case was closed bc they couldn’t locate him or find current work history. I wouldn’t even waste my time. If you truly need help, there are other resources
