I got the TDAP, should my boyfriend?

My OB had a family emergency so I cannot ask her at the moment what she thinks, but when she recommended I get the TDAP, she never said anything about anyone else getting it. What did you guys do?

Anyone who will be around my child before he has had the shot will be required to be up to date with their shots. I’m not putting my child at risk being around unvaccinated people....

If he is up to date on his TDAP then you should be good. If not, yes absolutely. Whooping cough immunity is in the TDAP. Whooping cough can be deadly to an infant. My niece ended up in the PICU at 4 weeks old with whooping cough and nearly died. So yes have him get the TDAP if he's due for it. I made sure my whole family was up to date on that as well as the flu shot if they were coming around my baby. (October baby- hello flu season)

I will get part of the vaccines and make sure my husband is up to date on his. I’m unfortunately deathly allergic to pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine so I’ll just have to be careful for the first handful of weeks 😢

my husband got it and so did both of our parents. pretty much anyone who will spend time with the baby should get it. or, they should wait the 6-8 weeks until baby gets their shots.
