It's almost been a year that I've had my iud...do you think they would be ok to switch it to another by now? And how to ask for a bigger iud...
I got Skyla almost a year ago when I was 19 and it's been great for everything except period wise. I used to get BAD headaches and weird cramps when I wasn't on my period and when I got Skyla...POOF, that went away. However my period has never been regular before Skyla and the doctor that prescribed Skyla (not the one who put it in) acted like it would likely get rid of my period or I would only spot occasionally..LIAR!!! My periods have been so weird and sometimes they happen every other week..every other day...every two months...like wtf. the nurse practitioner who put my iud in is actually really nice and I guess my new practitioner? Not sure...the one I thought I was seeing was suddenly not working there anymore...but anyways the new one is really nice but she mentioned that they usually don't prescribe bigger iuds to to people my age especially if they haven't given birth.
I've been really wanting to switch to mirena. I've looked at all of the other ones including kylenna but I really want mirena🤷♀️. When it comes to birth control I'm not that good at asking for what I want specifically. Do you think prolonged periods are a good reason to switch to mirena especially if I want to stick with an iud...like would the practitioner do it? I've almost had it an entire year, sadly I can't get ahold of the practitioner herself unless I go in, when ever I call and try to leave a message for the doctor their thing glitches.
