Anterior placenta - is baby less likely to flip?

Question

I'm almost 34 weeks with a breech baby and I have an anterior placenta. Does that make it less likely that baby will flip?
It's my first baby too.

My last one was anterior and breeches. He eventually flipped into position. I did lay upside down with feet in the air on a door, put music on with headphones to the pelvic floor and used peppermint oil to try and flip him. I don’t honestly know if any or all worked or he just decided to flip naturally but they are worth a shot.

I have an anterior placenta I think my baby has been head down since 25 weeks or so. I just had an appointment with my ob at 33 weeks and asked if there was still a possibility he could flip and end up breech and he says it’s not likely since he’s in birthing position but could happen. I don’t think the placenta has anything to do with it and have read the babies could still flip up to 36 weeks. Good luck! I hope your little one flips! I don’t know if it helps but I’ve slept on both my left and right side, mostly right side so just always find a comfy position and she might make the move :)

I have one as well - baby is breech. I was told placenta position can matter (my friend said that her midwife said if it’s in the back or something or to the side it can make it difficult.) but I believe not when it is anterior. I’m only 33 weeks and hoping this guy turns soon. I’ve tried everything to help entice him

I’m a FTM with an anterior placenta too! Our baby was breech at 3 different ultrasounds between 19w and 28w. I was starting to worry that she’d never flip or that the placenta was somehow in her way, preventing her from turning. At our 28w private 3D ultrasound, she was even all snuggled up next to it, as if it gave her comfort, which made me feel even less optimistic that she’d flip... At our 30w growth scan, I presumed she would still be breech, but to my surprise, she had turned after all! (Though I didn’t feel it happen.) Now I just have to cross my fingers that she stays that way! Good luck! 🍀

I’ve read on the Spinning Babies website that it is harder for anterior placenta babies to flip. However 90+ % of babies do flip by 36 weeks. There are some good exercises you can try on that website which may help flip baby. Also my midwife said it’s helpful if your pelvis is in a good position. So when you’re sitting make sure your knees are lower than your hips.
