I met this guy about a month ago and we started having sex. I usually go and test for STDs every 3 months but in April I thought I had herpes because I was a little itchy down there even though I didn’t have blisters or cold sores. Tested negative for both HSV 1 and 2. Three days ago I went in and did a 10 panel test and today I got the test results. Apparently I tested positive for oral herpes or HSV1. Although I know HSV1 doesn’t 100% exclusively mean oral I have never in my life had a cold sore before around my mouth. I’m so confused. How could this happen? Are they wrong? I’m trying not to panic but today 😞 today me and him were going to meet and he was possibly going to ask me out. Now I don’t know what to do. I feel nasty and I don’t even want to kiss him because I don’t know if I’ll transmit that to him. Should I test again somewhere else?

I don’t know what to think or do because I don’t want to hurt him or anyone although I know that oral herpes is very common.

I feel like I need to tell him and have him tested because what if he has herpes and didn’t know and he passed it to me, but then again what if he doesn’t have it and just stops talking to me?
