types of twins?

so going out last week that I'm having twins. on the us it looks like they are in 2 separate sacs so I assumed they're fraternal. well I'm reading all this stuff about the different types of twins and am so confused. can someone put it into English for me or tell me what they think from my sonogram.

They are definitely in separate sacs. When you get further along they will be able to tell you if they share a placenta or not. If they share a placenta that’s what we call mo/di twins. That means they will be identical. If they have their own placenta they will be what we call di/di twins. This is where the chances of being fraternal comes in. If it’s boy/girl combo then you know for sure they aren’t identical and are indeed fraternal. If they are the same sex then most likely they are fraternal but there’s a 33% chance they could still be identical. The only way to know is through dna test or if they come out looking obviously different and not identical. If they come out looking identical then chances are they fell in the 33% and are actually identical. I hope that made things easier for you to understand. 😊
