Tattoo while pregnant?

Me and my husband have had an appointment to get tattoos for a while now and I just recently found out I am pregnant. Would it still be okay to get the tattoo? It’s a small one on my finger. I just don’t know if it’s okay or not

The reason you shouldn't get tattoos while pregnant is due to the risk of infection. No reputable tattoo artist will tattoo a pregnant woman.  That being said, women who don't know their pregnant get tattoos and their children turn out fine. I personally wouldn't do it, but to each their own.

I got a tattoo at 5 weeks (I didnt know I was pregnant) now I'm 9 weeks and I haven't had any problems so far.

No tattooing or piercing while pregnant. It creates an unnecessary wound that can be a portal for infection. It also releases endorphins and adrenaline into your system that could send you into preterm labor. It’s a stressor on your body that is best avoided during pregnancy. Any tattooer that will Tattoo you while pregnant is someone you should run far and fast from. They don’t have your health in mind, only their wallet. The release form a Shop should have you fill out usually will have a clause you have to sign that says ‘I am not pregnant or nursing’.

I know tattoo’s and piercings aren’t the same but I pierced my nose without knowing I was already pregnant and once I found out I was almost 3 months pregnant and my nose was getting infected, I had a fever and cold so my doctor made me take it off and clean the wound fully. I’d say it’s better for women to wait for after the baby’s born to do what they want rather than put their pregnancy at risk.

I postponed mine and watched my husband get his.  I plan to get mine once I can get away from the baby for a few hours.
