Gender blood test?

Does every ONGYN usually do the 9 week blood test? I live in northwest GA ... not sure if my doctor does it or not. I saw where you could order a kit online draw your own blood and send it back? What do y’all think?

You can order the Sneak Peek test, do it at home, and mail it in. I have had several friends use it and they were all accurate!

I’ve heard the kits you buy aren’t as reliable. And you’re supposed to wait a little longer (like 11-12 weeks) for best accuracy. I don’t know about every doctors office, you’d just have to call and ask yours.

If you are over 35 it’s part of your Harmony test. And you don’t have to pay for it. I’m in Ga as well. But if you’re under I think  you have to pay. And it’s usually done at 10 weeks.

I got my first trimester blood work done at 5 weeks and there giving me the blood test for clariTest which tells you the gender and if there is any chromosomes abnormalities. It’s 300 hundred dollars out of pocket but I did it with my little 10 month old when I was pregnant at 11 weeks and I will do it again with this little one.

not all insurances cover it but like others said it's a genetic test to see if there's any chromosomal abnormalities. with that comes gender. I did mine @ 10 weeks and took about a week for results. even if insurance covers you don't have to take it if you don't want

most offer it as part of genetic testing but make sure you call your insurance before you do it because a lot of insurances wont cover it unless your high risk. my dr office wont even put in for the blood work until the insurance is called due to cost
