Morning Sickness Recommendation!!

Megan

A friend who just gave birth this week recommended this and it’s changed my life these past few days! Anyone who is having issues with nausea, consider this!

Diclegis is a very safe morning sickness drug, but it is apparently very expensive and some insurance won’t cover it. It is actually made of the same ingredients as a Unisom and vitamin B6. It sounds weird to take a sleep-aid when that’s not your issue but it’s so worth a try.

The recommendation is to start with half of a 25mg Unisom plus a B6 at night, you can increase to the whole tablet if needed. You can also take additional doses during the day, but it makes me so groggy I don’t think I could function if I did that. With me, I feel pretty good until late afternoon the next day, so it seems to last me 18-20 hours. I’m sure everyone is different with that part.

I don’t feel 100%, but I’d say 90% better with the nausea. It’s been a lifesaver! Just wanted to share since I’ve been commenting on a lot of posts to suggest it!! OF COURSE please realize I am not your OBGYN so I’m not trying to make medicine recommendations based on your individual pregnancy, but I did look into it and also asked the pharmacist and they said it’s very safe in pregnancy, and the over the counter version is indeed a good solution.

Good luck ladies!
