Do you think other countries are more educated on the real history of the US than the US is?

If yes, what are some examples that come to mind?

Ive grown up in schools in Canada, the US and international school while living overseas. My experience was that the Americans knew American history, but their world history was seriously lacking. In my experience Americans  had never had much exposure to other nations history which was pretty important. Both world wars were taught, but not well in my opinion. The American curriculum focused on America's role only whereas the international ciriculums (British as well as the IB curriculum) taught from a more well rounded view. I got information on not just America's side, but Germany, Britian, Canada, France and Eastern and Western Europe as a group. That's just one example of how this other systems taught history better than in the US, because though the US plays a big role it's not the only country in the world. I do think teaching your nations history is very important, but learning about other countries is as well. Especially when many of these countries played very important roles in how the world is today. 
I do remember attending an American school and being taught that the US won the war of 1812. Which is wrong. If they had then Canada wouldn't be what it is today, we lost no land which the Americans had tried to take during the war. We did lose a battle in Louisiana which is why they claim they won the war, but that battle occurred after the official war ended. So that was a pretty irritating error for me, the only Canadian in the school who was already being bullied for my nationality. But, otherwise I've never had an issue with the content of their history ciriculum, just that it's too focused on America and doesn't give a world wide prespective.

As someone who holds a degree in History, I think a good portion of people, regardless of nationality, lack historical knowledge. 
I don't think American schools place enough emphasis on History though.

My history classes growing up heavily involved American history, which I got the highest grade in. We covered many different countries and how they all linked up. We obviously learnt british history but we had a major focus on the rest of the world. 
The question can’t be answered on a general level as there could be an American who has no interest in their background or their history, therefore would I know more than them in a pop quiz? Probably yes. But many people are educated therefore I’d probably be on the same page or lower than them.

I know more about the history of the US than some of the people I run into. I live in the US. But my parents always talking about our history. Things that we didn’t learn about is school. Or if we come home talking about something we learned in school we would set down and talk about.

Why would other countries learn loads about another countries history? By the sounds of most things american history is biased towards the fact of america is fantastic but IMO it is not.

Depends on the country but in general I would say other countries of similar socioeconomic status and governing type are more edcuated on world history.
